FUNDRAISING LETTER
CALL FOR SUPPORT – QUE PHONG & PHU YEN VIETNAM
Dear kind hearts looking forward to help,
“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” – Mother Teresa.
Inside everybody, there is a dream of a full fill happy life. Unfortunately, not every one can reach that humble dream. For those living in poverty in Que Phong and Phu Yen, Vietnam, that dream may be unattainable.
Que Phong (Nghe An) is one of the poorest areas of Vietnam, where people often lack food, clothing, and in some places electricity is not even available. Their lives has mainly been based on their small family fields of corn and cassava. Children here are often grown up in conditions that are not guaranteed both physically and mentally. They usually have to skip their breakfast to go to school from breaking dawn through a long serpentine road. Their schools are not in good condition also, often with bamboo roof, and not enough desks. And another winter is about to come, these poor children have to face the long harsh months with cold and hungers. Ragged clothes, fragile, they don’t even have sandals to wear, not to mention socks, shoes and scarf to warm enough. Winter for them is far different from the cozy and merry days of other children.
After a process of verification in Que Phong area, we are aware that there are currently 24 children in needs of timely support. Among these, 20 are with special needs, some of them are malnourished. In the village, they have no telephone waves, no electricity, never know of a TV. They barely have any access to information sources.
Next, we came to another area in Central Vietnam, Phu Yen – the area to suffer the greatest loss and damage when Storm No. 12 (Damrey Storm) sweeping through Vietnam. Through the introduction of Mr. Le Tho Ky – a TV Broadcaster in Phu Yen, we have met Ms. Sepahan, Chairman of the Red Cross in Dong Xuan – Phu Yen. According to her, after the storm, many lives are in danger. The typhoon had damaged more than 10,000 local houses, destroyed thousands of hectares of rubber, cassava and of planted forest. Meanwhile, many schools, health centres, irrigation works and roads have been also damaged. Sea dykes in Tuy Hoa and Song Cau towns have been affected, posing danger for nearby households. Many children and elderly now in serious needs of food, clothing, houses and careness.
We know that deep down inside, we all have a heart full of love and sympathy willing to help other in difficulities, and that’s what make this life more beautiful. However, we cannot do it alone! To connect golden hearts of charity with these unfortunate fates, EVIVA Co., Ltd in association with Tinh thuong Bau bi Charity Club of Que Phong and Dong Xuan Red Cross in Dong Xuan – Phu Yen, organizes the program “CALL FOR SUPPORT – FUNDRAISING FOR CHILDREN IN QUE PHONG & PHU YEN”.
Hopefully, we can use your contribution to bring warm and happiness to these people this winter. “Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you.” ― Shannon L. Alder.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Sincerely,
Eviva Tour Vietnam
