Central Market in Phnom Penh

Central Market is a large market which was built in 1937, shaped in the form of a cross with a very impressive central dome. The market also has four wings filled with many fresh food shops; souvenir shops; gold, silver, jewelry shops; antique coins shops and fake name-brand watches, shoes and countless other items. The initial and layouts were designed by a French architect named Louis Chauchon and like its name; the market is located right in the center of Phnom Penh.

There is an assembly of great quality nourishment stalls on the west side, which faced Monivong Blvd. Without a doubt, Central Market is the best of Phnom Penh’s market for browsing. It is the cleanest and had the most stretched out scope of items available to be purchased. Opening hours is from early morning to late evening. For those who love shopping, Central Market would be your perfect choice.
