On June 27, the awards ceremony revealed the lineup of 7 restaurants that received the “1 star” distinction. This indicates that these restaurants offer good quality food and are worth trying. The list comprises 4 Vietnam 2023 establishments and 3 new additions:

Vietnam Bib Gourmand 2024

The Bib Gourmand Award is a designation given by the Michelin Guide to restaurants offering high-quality food at a reasonable price and named after Bibendum, the Michelin Man mascot. Unlike Michelin stars, which typically denote fine dining establishments, Bib Gourmand restaurants are often more casual and accessible, highlighting local cuisine and comfort food.

Many Vietnamese agree that the restaurants named in the list are all worth trying for tourists and reflect the spirit of Vietnamese cuisine.

Some individuals disagree with the presence of establishments such as Bun Cha Hang Than and Bun Cha Obama (Bun Cha Huong Lien). They believe these restaurants no longer meet the standards expected by locals and require quality improvements.

Many people concur with the excellence of Hu Tiu Hong Phat, Pho Minh, El Gaucho, Cha Ca Anh Vu, An’s Saigon, Com Tam 3 Ghien, Com Tho Chuyen Ky, Nha Tu, etc.

There is some local regret that many beloved eateries have not made it onto the list. Another perspective is that the Ho Chi Minh City list has too many Pho establishments.
