Ta Cu Mountain is located along National Highway 1A, the town of Thuan Nam, Ham Thuan Nam, Phan Thiet, 30 kilometres south-west of Phan Thiet, Vietnam. Reaching the top of the mountain, tourists can see a panoramic view of the fairyland scenery of Thuan Nam Town with lavish orchards of dragon plants grown in straight lines and ancient trees covered with creepers.
Moreover, the Ham Thuan An sea and famous Ke Ga Lighthouse near elaborate rock formations with sea waves are also fabulous. Following a path hundreds of meters long, visitors are amazed by the complex of Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda, which was built between 1870 and 1880 with more than one hundred stone steps. The most attractive point of the mountain is the spectacular statue of Buddha entering a state of paranirvana, the final nirvana of enlightened beings. Built in 1963, made from reinforced concrete and covered with white lime on a stone base, the statue is 11 meters high and extends for 49 meters. Access to the pagoda is for the fitness-minded, more than 1000 steps have to be climbed.
Every year when spring comes, tourists and Buddhist pilgrims come here to pray for lucks and enjoy the wonderful landscape of yellow apricot blossoms, red erythrina variegate and murmuring streams.
