Cua Van Floating Village located in Hung Thang commune, in the heart of the world famous Ha Long Bay, a Unesco heritage site.
Cua Van is one of the four floating villages in the bay and is the biggest one, situated 20 km away from the main wharf. The village is the home of many generations of fishing families living on small floating houses, build next to the impressive limestone mountains rising from the sea. The village even includes a floating school and a clinic, available for the 200 households living there. The population is sustained through fishing and marine aquaculture, maintaining a traditional way of life, far from any signs of modern technology.
Cua Van floating village is a must-see attraction in Ha Long Bay and many travelers visit the village as part of their exploration of the bay.
The village is only accessible via boat. Visitors can get there from either Ha Long bay or from Ben Beo harbor on Cat Ba island. Many tours are available to visit this unique place.
