The floating Karaweik Restaurant on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake is one of the tourist attraction points in Yangon. The contemporary architecture as a mythical creature was built in 1972. This entire building was covered with gold around 20 years ago. Karaweik is a restaurant-cum-reception hall. It serves lunch and supper with Myanmar, Chinese, Eastern and Western cooking at a reasonable price. It should also not be missed to discover the magnificence of this imperial barge and the astonishing perspective of the Shwedagon. Customary dance performances are usually held here in the night times.
