National Museum in Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang National Museum was converted from the Royal Palace, constructed since 1909 on the foundation of the ruined palace, with French-Laos blended style.

The Royal Palace (official name “Haw Kham”) was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family. The site for the palace was chosen so that official visitors to Luang Prabang could disembark from their river voyages directly below the palace and be received there. This interesting structure displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Laos culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign
