Tiger Rally in Vietnam in 2008 and 2010
Tiger Rally is an international automotive journey created for owners of luxury and classic vehicles, combining long distance driving with cultural experiences and premium hospitality across multiple countries.
When Vietnam became part of the route in 2008 and 2010, it was still an emerging destination for rallies of this scale. In 2008, Vietnam was also the only country the caravan entered twice, traveling through Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Hue, Hoi An, Vinh, and Hanoi as part of a nearly 7,000 kilometer journey across Southeast Asia. The convoy included remarkable vintage models from brands such as Bentley, Rolls Royce, Lagonda, Jaguar, and Bristol, many dating back to the 1920s and 1930s.
Managing the Ground Operations
As the local organizing partner for the Vietnam segment of Tiger Rally, Eviva Tour Vietnam was responsible for overseeing the entire ground operation throughout the journey.
One of the most complex tasks involved securing official approval for the participating vehicles to operate legally in Vietnam. Many of the rally cars were right hand drive vehicles, while Vietnam follows left side driving regulations, making the process particularly challenging. Through extensive coordination with local authorities and careful compliance procedures, Eviva successfully secured all necessary permissions for the entire convoy, allowing the rally to travel safely and legally across the country. The successful approval of such a large collection of vintage and luxury vehicles was itself a significant operational achievement for the project.
Beyond regulatory work, our team managed the full on ground experience, including accommodation, route coordination, daily logistics, refreshment stops, and operational support throughout the rally. Every detail was carefully planned to ensure participants could focus entirely on the journey itself while enjoying a seamless experience across Vietnam.
