TIPS
- The weather in Vietnam can be hot and sticky, particularly during the monsoon seasons, so ensure that you pack accordingly. Please be sure to pack sunscreen and a hat, especially for wearing when out on a boat in Halong Bay and in the Mekong Delta.
- During summer, which is also the monsoon season (May to October) you can expect days to be warm and humid with refreshing afternoon showers. Travel is rarely affected by the rain and everything is lush and green at this time.
- Hike in a group. Always have at least one other person with you if you are going on low-traffic trails or be accepting of the risk you take in having no one able to aid you.
- Always ask permission first before taking photographs, especially in minority areas.

Tour Plan
Day 1: Ha Noi Arrival – Free (-/-/-)
Arriving at Noi Bai International airport, you will be greeted by our team (guide & driver) with a pick-up board and then transferred to the Old Quarter of Hanoi - a unique city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, ancient temples, old pagodas and peaceful lakes. Check in hotel if available. Have free time for relaxing or discovering the city. Overnight in Ha Noi.
Day 2: Ha Noi City Full Day (B/-/D)
Guide & driver pick up at 08.00 AM and transfer for visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (if open for visiting), an important place of pilgrimage for Vietnamese, Ho Chi Minh's House on Stilts, built in the style of Vietnam's ethnic minorities, surrounded by verdant and peaceful gardens, One Pillar Pagoda, built in the 11th century, of wood on a single stone pillar resembling a lotus blossom, symbol of purity, rising out of a sea of sorrow. Then, enjoy a short drive to visit the Ethnology Museum, a valuable centre for the exhibition and the preservation of cultural heritages of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon, visit Temple of Literature, founded in 1070 by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong, and is dedicated to the Chinese philosopher Confucius. Then, visit Hoan Kiem Lake - the most beautiful lake in Hanoi, Ngoc Son Temple - built on an island in the 19th century. Before retiring in the hotel, walk around the historic Old Quarter of Hanoi with 36 streets named after the goods once sold there, Hang Be market - a typical Vietnamese day market, ancient house of local. Back to hotel. Evening, enjoy dinner at a local family in Ha Noi to learn about local daily life and meal (if available). Overnight in Ha Noi.
Day 3: Ha Noi – Ha Long (B/L/D)
08.00 AM guide & driver pick up & depart to Ha Long and enjoy the interesting 3,5 - 4 hour drive to Ha Long with many rice fields, water buffalo and daily Vietnamese village life. Arrive Ha Long wharf at noon, take a boat trip to visit Ha Long Bay – a world heritage site. Great photo opportunities of shaped islands like Dog Island, Incense Burner Island, Fighting Cock Island and so on. Visiting Sung Sot cave and having a swim at Titov beach. Enjoy sunset. After dinner, relax, drinking or fishing at your pleasure before spending a night on board. Overnight on Junk.
Day 4: Ha Long – Ha Noi – Hue (B/ Brunch/-)
Enjoy morning with cake, tea or coffee. More cruising toward islets of Man’s head, Tortoise… Cruising through Bai Tu Long bay and heading back to Ha Long pier. Check out of the boat. Bus pick up and return to Ha Noi. Arrive Ha Noi, head to Noi Bai airport & catch a short flight to Hue. Arrive in Hue, pick up & transfer for check in hotel and free for rest. Overnight in Hue.
Day 5: Hue – City – Da Nang – Hoi An (B/-/-)
Morning, guide & driver pick up & enjoy a half day tour. First, take a boat trip on the romantic Perfume River to visit Hue’s best-known religious site: Thien Mu pagoda, and the Mausoleum of former Emperor Minh Mang or Khai Dinh, built as the plan drawn out by the king himself and on the place chosen by the king too in the middle of the pine forest. Continue to visit Imperial Citadel and then have lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon, transfer by car from Hue to Hoi An which is about 3 hours drive. Arrive in Hoi An, check in hotel and free for rest. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 6: Hoi An – Tra Que Village – Hoi An Old Quarter (B/L/-)
Depart to Tra Que, a charming village which supplies vegetables to kitchens all over the town. Spend the morning working with the villagers as they show you the ways to harvest and prepare fresh vegetables for meals. Learn how to cook a lunch of Vietnamese dishes with your hosts before enjoying the fruits of your labour. Afternoon, take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former merchants’ houses, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient pagodas and temples and the colorful market with shopping time. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 7: Hoi An – Free & Easy (B/-/-)
Free at your own leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 8: Hoi An – Da Nang – Sai Gon – City (B/-/-)
Free till pick up & depart for Da Nang airport to catch a flight to Sai Gon. Arrive in Sai Gon, pick up & transfer to hotel for rest & free (if available). Afternoon, take a half day to visit the city: Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace, that was built in 1962 and is well-known as an outstanding example of 1960’s architecture, learning more about china town in HCMC, visiting Thien Hau pagoda – the worship place of the Chinese community of Kwang Shieng which was built in 1760. Back to hotel and free. Overnight in Sai Gon.
Day 9: Sai Gon – Mekong (B/L/D)
08.30 AM: Pick up at hotel (with driver only, no guide) then depart to Cai Be (from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be: approx. 120km). Arrive in Cai Be, greeting at Cai Be harbor and boat trip transfer to Mekong Lodge. Check-in bungalows. Daily lunch is served in the nice restaurant with the Vietnamese day-menu.
From 15h00 PM: afternoon cycling tour to Tân Phong island, go to one of the orchard: approx. 10km along village paths, in passing 3 wooden ferries, in about 2 hours.
Cooking demonstration in the evening & dinner in restaurant. Riverside Bar are open until mid-night.
Day 10: Mekong – Sai Gon – Phu Quoc (B/-/-)
07:00 – 08:00 AM: breakfast in the restaurant.
From 08:00am: boat trip to the bustling floating market, visit handicraft villages and Cai Be market on land, then transferred to Mekong Lodge.
11:30 AM: clear bill and check out. Free at Lodge. (Lunch at your own payment)
14:30 PM: boat trip transfer to Cai Be harbor. Board your car and head to Tan Son Nhat airport. Arrive at airport at about 17.30 – 18.00, check in for connection flight to Phu Quoc at 19.55. Arrive in Phu Quoc at 20.55, driver picks up and transfers to hotel for check in. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 11: Phu Quoc – Free (B/-/-)
Have a full day free at your own relaxing in Phu Quoc. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 12: Phu Quoc – Free (B/-/-)
Have a full day free at your own relaxing in Phu Quoc. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 13: Phu Quoc – Free (B/-/-)
Have a full day free at your own relaxing in Phu Quoc. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 14: Phu Quoc – Sai Gon – Departure (B/-/-)
Free in Phu Quoc till pick up & depart for Phu Quoc airport. Catch a short flight to Sai Gon & check in for connection flight back home. Tour ends.
