The World Golf Awards is part of the prestigious World Travel Awards. This yearly awards program recognizes and rewards excellence in golf tourism. In 2021, at the eighth annual World Golf Awards held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Vietnam won both the title Best Golf Destination 2021 in the World and Asia. It is the second year that Vietnam has been honored with the world title and the fifth consecutive year with the Asian title since 2017.

Vietnam golf tourism now draws big attention post-Covid: “After the pandemic is brought under control, the demand for foreign visitors, especially high-spenders to Vietnam to play golf would be even greater because this tourism product has a high safety level and low contact with limited crowds,” said Ha Van Sieu, deputy head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

“Vietnam has enough potential to attract 60 million golfers while the number of domestic players has been increasing,” Le Hung Nam, general secretary of the Golf Association added.

The country has a lot of potential for golf tourism development in terms of favorable geographical location and infrastructure. There are over 100 golf courses in operation, 32 of them match worldwide 5-star standards. Golf courses in Vietnam are normally located along the 6,000-kilometer coastal route of the country and adjacent to luxury resorts.
