Best time to visit Da Nang

Da Nang is one of Vietnam’s five urban centers. It is not just recognized for its stunning beaches such as My Khe, Non Nuoc,…; it is also a trendy city with dazzling bridges and an active lifestyle. With these conditions, Da Nang has become a safe and high-quality tourism destination in the previous five years. So, when is the best time to visit Da Nang? We’ll discover it in this post.

Da Nang’s seasons and climate

Da Nang has a tropical climate with two different seasons: the Dry season, which runs from January to August, and the Wet season, which runs from September to December. Each season in Da Nang is appropriate for a particular type of travel.

Da Nang’s dry season

The dry season in Da Nang lasts from January to August. This rainfall level at this period of the year is at its lowest.

The dry season is split into 4 periods, with small variations in climate conditions between them. The first phase, known as the dry-cold phase, begins in January. The weather will be dry and chilly, with lows of 20°C and an average temperature of 21°C. The second phase, dry-cool, begins in February. With the pleasant wind from the ocean and a decrease in precipitation, the temperature will gradually rise. Under these conditions, outdoor activities are fantastic, you may enjoy sunbathing and trekking without fear of rain.

The third phase, dry-warm, starts in March and lasts through May. During these months, the temperature reaches its maximum, with highs reaching 33°C. Average precipitation remains extremely low in March and April, the driest months of the year, before gradually increasing in May. The scorching heat is beginning to bother your city walking or trekking.

The final stage, dry-hot, lasts from June through August. They are the hottest months of the year, with highs of 35-36°C, and even 40°C. You will begin to experience the usual heat of Central Vietnam, with lengthy periods of sunshine. Wear a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and remain hydrated to protect yourself from direct sunshine.

Da Nang’s wet season

The wet season in Da Nang lasts from September to December and is divided into 3 phases. During these months, Da Nang gets a high amount of rain. The first phase, stormy-warm, occurs in September when the majority of typhoons arrive from the sea. Precipitation averages more than double what it did in August (from 117mm in August to 312mm in September).

The stormy-cool phase, which lasts from October to November, is the second phase. In this city, the temperature decreases to 24-25°C on average, indicating fall weather. The average precipitation rises to 650mm in October and 432mm in November, making these two months the wettest of the year.

In December, the year finishes with a rainy-cool period. In Danang, the temperature will drop to an average of 22°C, signaling the start of winter. With less precipitation and cold winter breezes, it will be considerably more enjoyable.

Most beach activities are restricted during the wet season, so avoid visiting during these months if you want to swim.

Da Nang’s peak season

From June through August, Da Nang is at its busiest. This is when the temperature reached its peak, which was between 32 and 38 degrees Celsius. It is also summertime, so there will be a lot of people vacationing, thus the service may be overpriced. There seems to be no good time for you if you dislike crowded areas.

Shoulder season – Best season to travel Da Nang
