The theatre, which offers live performances of Vietnamese folk music and folk dance, is located on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An. Normally, the shows are from 9:00PM to 10:00PM everyday. If tourists have paid the ticket for entrance fee into town before, they could watch the performance for free.
Although being a little small and not really comfortable, this place does a good job to make viewers feel interested since they can see the facial expressions of the performers, every twitching of the wrists, and the complex designs on the costumes and musical instruments, especially “Dan bau” – an one-stringed Vietnamese musical instrument with really beautiful sound.
Throughout the show, the performers bring about life to the many artifacts and relics that exist everywhere in Hoi An, from houses to houses. Enthusiastic, emotional and professional are what we can talk about the artists on these shows.
