Kalaw Township, an old British hill resort at the height of 1,315 meters, is otherwise called Pine Land due to its plenty pine trees. The town is encompassed by dim yet spectacular mountain ranges where Palaung and other hill tribes live.
The calm, tranquil and cold resort still has the structures and garden of British colonial era and it is undeniably presenting the atmosphere of an old British town in Myanmar.
Additionally, the lively Kalaw market, held after every five days where all the ethnic tribes from close-by villages get together for trading, is one of the fascinating spots to visit.
