TIPS
- You can travel to Vietnam any time of year and each season has its own special appeal. The most popular time for travel is from October to April.
- During summer, which is also the monsoon season (May to October) you can expect days to be warm and humid with refreshing afternoon showers. Travel is rarely affected by the rain and everything is lush and green at this time.
- Vietnam is probably the safest place you will visit. But should be carefully. Just keep things close to you.
- Things need to bring for your trip: sunglasses, hat, cover-up, sandals/flip-flops...
- Best travel time for Phu Quoc is from October to May. Rainy season starts from June to August.
Tour Plan
Day 1: Sai Gon Arrival – Free (-/-/-)
Pick up upon your arrival at Tan Son Nhat international airport & transfer to hotel for check in (if available). Free for rest. Overnight in Sai Gon.
Day 2: Sai Gon – Cu Chi Tunnel – City Tour (B/-/-)
Have breakfast at hotel. In the morning, drive to Cu Chi district to visit the amazing complex of underground tunnels at Cu Chi. There are more than 200 km of underground tunnels, comprising a main axis system with many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters and other tunnels. You have chance to crawl through this amazing system of tunnels before returning to Ho Chi Minh for lunch. Afternoon, orient by foot from the Saigon River past the Opera House, Town Hall & Notre Dame Cathedral. Visit Reunification Palace (museum) and the famous Ben Thanh Market. Dinner is at your arrangement. Overnight in Sai Gon.
Day 3: Sai Gon – Mekong (B/L/D)
- Driver (private car with driver only, no guide) picks up at 08.30 AM and departs to Cai Be (from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be: approx. 120km).
- Arrive Cai Be, greeting at Cai Be harbor and boat trip transfer to Mekong Lodge. Check-in bungalows.
- Daily lunch is served in the nice restaurant with the Vietnamese day-menu.
- From 15:00pm: afternoon cycling tour to Tân Phong island, go to one of the orchard: approx. 10km along village paths, in passing 3 wooden ferries, in about 2 hours.
- Cooking class in the evening & dinner in restaurant. Riverside Bar are open until mid-night.
Day 4: Mekong Discovery (B/L/D)
- 07:00 – 08:00am: breakfast in the restaurant.
- From 08:00am: boat trip to the bustling floating market, visit handicraft villages, and Cai Be market on land, then transferred to Mekong Lodge.
- 12:00pm: daily lunch is served in the nice restaurant with the Vietnamese day-menu.
- 15:00pm: biking tour to visit brick factory, sugar cane handicraft factory, pagodas.
- 18:30- 19:00 pm: carvings on fruits or carrots or bistrots in the evening & dinner in restaurant.
- Riverside Bar are open until mid-night.
Day 5: Mekong – Sai Gon – Phu Quoc (B/-/-)
- 07:00- 08:00am: breakfast in the restaurant. Full morning relax in Mekong Lodge after 2 days of activities.
- 11:30am: clear bill and check out. Free at leisure.
- 12.00 pm: Boat transfer to Cai be harbor and catch our private car again to Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh. Check in for a short flight to Phu Quoc. Arrive in Phu Quoc, driver picks up & transfers to hotel for check in (if available).
- Free for rest. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 6: Phu Quoc Free & Easy (B/-/-)
Have a full day free at your own leisure. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 7: Phu Quoc Free & Easy (B/-/-)
Have a full day free at your own leisure. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 8: Phu Quoc Free & Easy (B/-/-)
Have a full day free at your own leisure. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
Day 9: Phu Quoc Free & Easy (B/-/-)

Day 10: Phu Quoc – Sai Gon – Departure (B/-/-)
Free till pick up & transfer to Phu Quoc airport & catch a short flight back to Sai Gon, then catch international flight back home. Tour ends.
