Hung Long Tu Pagoda was built by a monk named Nguyen Kim Muon in 1932; therefore, another name is Su Muon Pagoda. This is the most ancient temple of Phu Quoc.
The pagoda is located on a mountainside in Duong Dong town. Passing 60 stone steps, travelers can reach the temple. Entering the temple you can firstly see a smiling Maitreya Buddha statue. A Guan Yin statue on a lotus is in front of sanctum while a tiger natural stone lying under bamboo trees on the right. The sanctum has a big exquisitely sculpted Buddha statue inside. The temple also has a well, although it looks not shallow, the water never exhausted all year round, even in the driest season it is enough water to supply not only for temples but also for people around.
